Pieces of Georgia

Pieces of Georgia by Jen Bryant

Georgia is a thirteen-year-old budding artist who loves to draw and has lots of time everyday to fill her tablets of drawing paper. Her dad works long hours in construction and her mom died a few years ago, something that still causes Georgia pain. She has to go talk to the counselor at school about her mom's death, something she hates! The one thing that the counselor does do that is helpful is encourage Georgia to keep a journal. In her journal, Georgia ends up writing letters to her mom. New things come into Georgia's life, like Tiffany the new girl who moved into the large house down the way from Georgia's little trailer. And one day an anonymous gift membership to an art museum arrives in the mail that opens up a whole new world of art for Georgia!
